Indian Film industry is evergreen and always evolving. It introduces a new idea, new zeal and particularly a new face every time something good hits the theaters. Many times the new face gets a lot of unexpected hype (like Disha Patani after MS Dhoni) and sometimes the impact of that pretty face fades in no time. Another such face which should be getting the attention today is Amyra Dastur, and why not? She’s very pretty and very talented.
Amyra Dastur (26) is an actress in the Indian film industry. She’s basically of Parsi origin (though only handful Parsis live in India) and speaks in English and in Gujarati at home. Born and brought up in Mumbai, Dastur began her schooling in Cathedral and John Connon School. She started her acting career and left school, at that time she was in Dhirubhai Ambani International School doing her secondary education. But now she’s again completing her studies from Mumbai’s HR College.
She started her acting career at the age of 16 in 2009 as a model. She was mostly seen in TV commercials. Some of them are Clean and clear, Dove (toiletries), Vodafone and Micromax. This was just the beginning for this young talent. Later in 2013, she made her acting Debut opposite Prateik Babbar. The film was Issaq. It was a Hindi film and she played the role of Bachchi Kashyap( Juliet).
Although she has mainly starred in Hindi films, she has also done some Tamil and Telugu films as well. One of her major hits is Anegan which she did opposite Dhanush. Anegan was a Tamil film which portrayed the concept of rebirth and simultaneously associated romance and eternal love with it. The film was a major hit and Amyra got nominated for the SIIMA Award for The Best Debut Actress –Tamil. Again in 2015, she was seen lip locking with Emran Hashmi in Vikram Bhatt’s sci-fi vigilante film Mr. X. This role fetched her lot of attention from Hindi speaking audience and the name finally came into light.
She was seen in an international film with Jackie Chan, Sonu Sood and Disha Patani, the film was Kung Fu Yoga. The film released in 2017 in three different languages – Mandarin, Hindi and English. Amyra played Kyra in the film. The film was again a huge success. Her acting career started speeding up and she did more movies namely – Manasuku Nachindi (Telugu), Kaalakaandi (Hindi), Raju Gadu (Telugu), Rajma Chawal (Hindi) etc.
Amyra also mentioned that she had to face a lot of difficulties and challenges in Hindi as well as Tamil industry. People bullied and tried to get rid of her. But she can’t take the names as she mentioned that they’re influential people and are very powerful. Also, she was made to wait straight for 12-14 hours in her vanity van and later the director would tell her that they were not shooting on the day. She also mentioned that power doesn’t remain in one’s hands always, it fades. So she’s definitely going to reveal the names in future.
Amyra will be seen in the Kangana Ranaut and Rajkumar Rao starrer ‘Judgementall hai kya’ in the end of July 2019. She will play Tina in the movie. She was seen doing a few intimate scenes with Rao in the trailer. The film will definitely turn out to be good and this is the best move Dastur has ever made after Anegan.
